Simpson Murder Case : RULING EXPECTED TODAY

Share

Judge Kathleen Kennedy-Powell said she will rule today on whether evidence found in the search of O.J. Simpson’s estate can legally be used in court. Under state and federal law, police can enter a home without a warrant if they:

- Are in hot pursuit of a suspect.

- Believe evidence will be destroyed.

- Believe someone is in jeopardy.

COVERING THE CASE

As many as 80 media representatives are swarming daily to the two press rooms on the 11th floor of the Criminal Courts Building. Two small color TVs are provided for the print media; one shows the courtroom and the other monitors the hallway outside where witnesses wait. An adjoining press room is primarily used by broadcast reporters.

VOICE

“I said I have some really terrible news and then I started to cry, and I handed the phone over to the detective.”
