AT&T; Awarded Telecom License in Britain: The company said it has been awarded the license to offer telecommunications, giving it more freedom to fight back against the joined forces of British Telecom and MCI. However, the long-distance firm cautioned that it must still go through a 28-day public consultation process. That process could reveal important details regarding just how far the British government will go in assuring an even playing field.
