Commercial Real Estate Prices Up, Study Says: Prices were up for all major property types, posting the largest gain this decade in the first quarter, National Real Estate Index said. But the gains continued to be chalked up mainly in western states outside California and in the economically strong Sun Belt states, led by a surge in apartment property values, the research firm said in its quarterly report. Saying the commercial real estate market “is back,” National Real Estate said its composite price index increased 1.8% in the quarter. That follows a 1.1% gain in the previous quarter and marks the fourth consecutive quarter the index has risen. It gained 3.0% for the 12 months ended March 31.
