* “When I Say No I Feel Guilty” and “Yes, I Can Say No”--Assertiveness guides by Los Angeles psychologist Manuel Smith. The widely used Social Thinking and Reasoning program is based on “When I Say No I Feel Guilty,” available in libraries and bookstores. “Yes, I Can Say No” (Arbor House, 1986), which grew out of the STAR program, is available only in libraries.

* Toastmasters International--Group that helps people overcome fear of public speaking by doing it. Fee: $18 for six months and $16 new membership fee, which covers cost of manual. Each club has own dues fee. Members must be 18 but youth groups can be formed. Information: (714) 858-8255.
