BURBANK : Order to Restrain Rock Star Denied

Share

A Superior Court commissioner Friday denied a Burbank woman’s request for a restraining order against rock singer David Lee Roth, stating “The court finds there are no grounds” for it.

Deborah Ruth Davidsohn, 34, of Burbank, filed a lawsuit earlier this year asking that Roth be blocked from telephoning her and from releasing songs, such as “Yankee Rose,” which she contended contains lyrics about her.

She claimed to have had a seven-year relationship with the rock star.

Friday was the second time Davidsohn has been denied a restraining order against the former lead singer of the band Van Halen. She tried to obtain one in 1989, soon after Roth successfully got a three-year restraining order against her.

According to court files, the rocker said he was being harassed by an obsessive fan he has never met and had been charged for thousands of dollars in merchandise she ordered.

A spokesman for the singer said he’s on tour and was unreachable for comment.
