A memorial service for a single father killed this week when a 2,000-pound pipe tore off the roof of his vehicle as he drove on the Golden State Freeway is scheduled for 3 p.m. today at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6657 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood.

Charles Fedorko, 46, died Tuesday afternoon when a truck carrying 27 of the heavy pipes lost its load on a Foothill Freeway transition ramp 45 feet above traffic on the Golden State Freeway.

He was an executive with Keystone Communications in Los Angeles, which distributes television programs nationwide by satellite.

Fedorko had lived for the past two years with his 14-year-old son, David, in the Stevenson Ranch housing complex just west of Santa Clarita.
