Public Memorial Service for Huber Planned Today in Newport Beach
A memorial service for Denise Huber is scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Mariner’s Church, 1000 Bison Ave.
Huber disappeared three years ago when her car broke down along the Corona del Mar Freeway, and the discovery of her body last week in a freezer in Arizona has led to an outpouring of support for her family.
The service will be open to the public. The family’s pastor, Walt Shepard, will officiate and friends and relatives will give eulogies.
The Huber family intends to bury Denise, who was 23 when she vanished, in South Dakota on July 28, pending the release of the body by medical examiners in Arizona.
A memorial fund in her name will be established by her family. The charity that the fund will benefit has yet to be selected. Donations may be sent to the Denise Huber Memorial Fund, 120 Columbia Drive, Suite 100, Aliso Viejo, Calif. 92656.
