HemaCare Announces $516,000 Loss for Quarter

HemaCare Corp., a Sherman Oaks provider of blood-related products and services, reported a $516,000 second-quarter loss as it continued to rack up costs for developing an experimental AIDS treatment.

The loss in the three months ended June 30 contrasted with a year-earlier loss of $763,000. Its revenue in the recent quarter rose 2%, to $2.87 million from $2.81 million.

For the six months, HemaCare had a net loss of $1.2 million, while its revenue slipped 10%, to $5.52 million. A year before, it lost $1.23 million on $6.14 million in revenue.
