John Wayne Bobbitt borrowed a line from O.J. Simpson on Monday, pleading “absolutely, positively, 100% not guilty” to a misdemeanor charge of battering his former fiancee.

Justice of the Peace Bill Jansen set a Sept. 28 trial for Bobbitt, who also faces a Municipal Court appearance Wednesday, where he is charged with domestic battery in connection with an incident May 6.

In the most recent case, Bobbitt and his former fiancee, Kristina Elliott, were arrested July 2 along with a friend, Todd Biro, after a fracas in which Elliott claims she was beaten by the two men.

Bobbitt told police he was struck and bitten on the chest by Elliott, 21, a former topless dancer he met in Las Vegas in February while on a personal appearance tour.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Abbi Logue said she would seek jail time for Bobbitt.

Bobbitt’s plea echoed that of Simpson, whose plea Friday said he was “absolutely 100% not guilty” to charges of killing his ex-wife and a companion.

Bobbitt gained international attention in June, 1993, when his wife, Lorena Bobbitt, severed his penis while he slept in their Virginia home. She told police she did it because Bobbitt sexually assaulted her. The penis was reattached surgically.

Bobbitt was acquitted of marital sexual abuse in November. A jury in January found Lorena Bobbitt innocent by reason of insanity of mutilating her husband.
