DUARTE : Program Aims to Help Critically Ill Patients
The City of Hope National Medical Center sponsored 24 seminary students last month in a nine-day program aimed at teaching participants how to minister to critically ill patients.
The Inter-Seminary Institute Program included sessions on death and dying, pain management, family issues and bone marrow transplants. Students also visited and counseled patients.
Participants were from Fuller Theological Seminary, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, School of Theology at Claremont College, St. John’s Seminary and the Islamic Center of Southern California.
The program began in 1993. For information on next year’s session, call (818) 359-8111, Ext. 2714.
