Two Firms Invest in Showscan Corp.: Culver City-based Showscan said two firms bought more than 500,000 of its newly issued common shares, amounting to 9.8% of its outstanding common stock after the effect of the sales. The company, a leader in the production of entertainment motion-simulation theater attractions, said Fidelity Investments bought 357,040 shares at $7.75 each, or $2,767,060, while Neuberger & Berman acquired 150,000 shares at $7.75 each, or $1,162,500. The purchase follows a registration statement declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 20, and brings the total outstanding Showscan shares to 5,189,559 from 4,682,519.
