Getting the word out to potential volunteers may be a bit easier for the Volunteer Center of Greater Orange County.
Its Youth Connection Program recently received a $25,000 grant from the Weingart Foundation for a three-year program designed to increase volunteer service.
The program plans to increase the number of nonprofit agencies offering youth volunteer opportunities, to develop a working network of information sharing and referral service and to increase training and consultation between the Volunteer Center and high schools.

Volunteers from 10 Orange County high schools this month participated in a beach cleanup sponsored by the Youth Connection Program at Crystal Cove Beach in Laguna.
