Share

At least 2,500 people are expected to participate locally Tuesday evening in the first citywide observance of “National Night Out,” joining in an anti-crime march throughout the Rampart area.

“What we’re trying to do with this event is pretty much bring the L.A. area together,” said Officer Webster Wong of the Rampart Division’s community relations office.

Marchers will gather at 5:30 p.m. at six meeting points, eventually converging upon Rampart Division headquarters. There, Wong said, speakers and entertainment--including a candlelight ceremony and fireworks--will be featured.
