The <i> Real </i> First in Space

In your July 10-16 issue of TV Times, it is stated in the interview with Alan Shepard that he was the first man into space. That is incorrect. The Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first man to go into space--a month before Shepard’s flight--on April 12, 1961, from Star City, Russia.
