3D Systems Reports Profits for 2nd Quarter, 1st Half

3D Systems Corp., a Valencia maker of imaging systems used by manufacturers to fabricate solid objects quickly, reported profit turnarounds in its second quarter and first half from losses a year ago.

In the three months ended July 1, 3D earned $506,675, compared with a loss of $495,562 in the second quarter of 1993. Its sales in the recent quarter totaled $10.4 million, a 44% gain from $7.23 million in sales a year before.

For the six months, the company had net income of $1.34 million, while its sales jumped 38%, to $19.9 million. A year earlier, it lost $1.19 million on $14.4 million in sales.
