Body Believed to Be That of Missing Woman

A body found Thursday morning in a remote area north of Lancaster is believed to be that of Earlene Udagar, 35, who was reported missing this week, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.

Sgt. Ron Spear said investigators must await the results of a coroner’s autopsy but believe that the cause of death was suicide.

The woman’s body was found next to a parked car just off Avenue E at the Antelope Valley Freeway. Homicide investigators found a medicine vial at the scene and traced the car’s registration to Udagar, Spear said.

Earlier this week, deputies asked for the public’s help in locating the Lancaster woman, who had not been seen since July 23. The coroner’s staff will make a final determination on the identity of the body, Spear said.
