CAM Data Systems Inc.: The Fountain Valley producer of point-of-sale and inventory management systems reported that its third-quarter profit declined 67%, to $68,000, or 3 cents a share, from $205,000, or 11 cents a share. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 increased 10%, to $3.4 million from $3.1 million. Profit for the first nine months totaled $223,000, or 11 cents a share, down 54% from the $483,000, or 25 cents a share, posted for the like period a year ago. Revenue rose 10%, to $9.7 million from $8.8 million. The company attributed the decline in profit to increased service and personnel costs, and increased research and development costs.
