Procter & Gamble Reports Record Profit: Signaling a clear rebound after a year-old restructuring, the nation’s largest maker of household and personal care products announced a record full-year profit and strong quarterly results. The Cincinnati-based company’s fiscal earnings surged to a record $2.2 billion after a loss of $656 million a year ago, when results were depressed by the $1.5-billion restructuring charge and accounting changes. Procter & Gamble made a worldwide profit of $406 million in its fourth quarter, contrasted with a year-ago loss of $1.2 billion, excluding the restructuring charge.
