Hoffman Co. Land Brokers: In another sign of increased activity in the Southern California real estate market, the Irvine-based brokerage said Wednesday it has sold $57 million worth of residential land in the past four months.
The company expects to close another $100 million in land sales by December, more than double what it sold during all of 1993, said Byron Hoffman, its president. “There is a tremendous amount of activity as builders move to secure finished or near-finished lots to meet the growing demand for new homes,” he said.
Nearly $31 million of the land sales were in Orange County, for a total of 410 housing lots in Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, San Clemente and Coto de Caza. The rest of the land was in the Antelope Valley area of Los Angeles County.
