‘Greenest’ Motor Vehicles Rated: If you’re looking for a car that’s friendly to the planet, try one of the three versions of the Geo Metro, topped by Metro FXi; the 1.5-liter Honda Civic CX, and the 2.3-liter Oldsmobile Achieva, a consumer group survey recommends. Light trucks fared worst in the “The Green Buyer’s Car Book,” a Public Citizen report on 1994 cars and trucks. Each model was judged on a combination of four factors: smog and carbon monoxide emissions, global warming caused by its fuel consumption, use of ozone-depleting chemicals and recyclability.
