Man Shot, Critically Hurt in Santa Ana Alley
A 19-year-old man was in critical condition late Thursday after being shot in the back in an alley behind the 2200 block of North Bristol Street, police said.
The Santa Ana man, whom police have not identified, was found in the alley after patrol officers heard shots fired in the area just before 9 p.m., Sgt. Dick Faust said. The victim was first taken to nearby Doctors Hospital of Santa Ana and then transferred to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Officers chased a fleeing vehicle from the scene to 10th and Bristol streets, where it was stopped and three teen-agers arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
