Novell Names Frankenberg Board Chairman: The computer networking company named President and Chief Executive Robert Frankenberg to replace founder Raymond Noorda. Noorda, who will remain as a board member, said Novell was in good hands with Frankenberg. Frankenberg joined Novell in April, after months of speculation about who would succeed Noorda. Frankenberg previously headed Hewlett-Packard Co.’s personal information products group and was credited with turning around the company’s personal computer division. Frankenberg, who was elected chairman at a board meeting, said he plans to build on the vision that Noorda established. Exactly what new direction Novell might take, however, remains unclear.
