Thrifty Tel Ousts CEO: The Garden Grove-based long-distance telephone company said it removed William J. Kettle as president and chief executive amid allegations that the company had violated the terms of a lending agreement. The lender claimed Thrifty had received advances on a line of credit in excess of the value of the collateral put up by the company. James A. Wood, a director, was named chief executive on a temporary basis. Kettle could not be reached for comment.
