Share

Free immunizations for new students in the Santa Ana Unified School District will be given today through Sept. 19, a district spokeswoman said.

Immunizations for those who need them will be offered between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the district’s Registration and Testing Center, 3321 S. Fairview Road. A parent or legal guardian must be present, district spokeswoman Diane Thomas said.

School nurses will give polio, diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus, measles, mumps and rubella vaccinations, which are required by schools before admission.

Skin testing for tuberculosis, a new requirement for school admission as of Sept. 1, is also available, Thomas said.

Parents should bring their child’s immunization record, she said.
