PerfectData Shows Profit Versus Year-Earlier Loss

PerfectData Corp., a Simi Valley-based maker of computer and office cleaning products, reported earnings of $115,000 for the company’s fiscal first quarter that ended June 30, compared to a year-earlier loss of $54,000.

Sales for the latest quarter were $1.77 million, up 12% from revenue of $1.59 million in the June quarter of 1993.

The company also reported it has discontinued a segment of its operations that included modems, cables and switch boxes. The company has withdrawn from those highly competitive markets to focus on its core product line of office maintenance products.
