In an attempt to break the world’s record for free-fall, hand-linked parachutists, sky divers from 27 countries on Friday will complete competition to beat a record set in California in October, 1992, by 200 hand-holding parachutists.
Nora Slovakova, a spokeswoman for the attempt, said the goal in Slovakia will be to link 222 sky divers simultaneously. About a quarter of the participants are Americans. The California standard was posted in the Guinness Book of World Records.
