Share

Four teen-agers suffered minor injuries late Wednesday morning when a golf cart they were riding in overturned on a residential street in a gated community, authorities said.

The four teens--a girl and three boys--were passengers in a cart driven by another teen-age girl, who was unhurt, California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Bernardin said.

The four injured teen-agers were taken by paramedics to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo. Their names, and that of the driver, were not available.

The accident happened about 11:30 a.m. on a downhill section of Rancho Cielo.

According to a witness, the golf cart rolled over after swerving. No other vehicles were involved.

The witness, Michael Lucas, said the golf cart was going about 35 m.p.h. when it toppled in the middle of the roadway.

Bernardin said no citations would be issued because the crash occurred on private property.
