Western Digital Corp.: The company Monday announced a new product designed to enhance the quality of images on the monitors of personal computers.

The products, known as accelerator cards, will sell for $229 and $299, depending on the size of their memory. The cards will take over some of the functions usually handled by software programs, allowing monitors to display up to 16.8-million different shades of color at very high resolutions.
