DANA POINT : Meeting to Address Future of Landfill
The county is holding a meeting tonight in Dana Point to discuss a draft environmental impact report on a plan to guide development of the county’s Prima Deschecha landfill.
The 1,530-acre landfill site, in use since 1976, includes unincorporated county land and parts of San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente.
A new plan for the facility includes a proposal to connect La Pata Avenue at the middle of the landfill, near the border of San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente.
The landfill is south of Ortega Highway and west of Interstate 5.
Tonight’s meeting is from 7 to 9 at the Youth and Group Facility, 34451 Ensenada Place, in Dana Point.
