Study of Cellular Phone Risks Revised: Cellular telephone users may be exposed to greater levels of potentially dangerous electromagnetic energy than previously thought, according to revised figures from Om Ghandi, a researcher at the University of Utah. He recalculated data from an earlier study of 10 cellular phones and found higher levels of electromagnetic energy than were originally reported. Lawsuits have alleged a connection between cellular phone use and some forms of brain cancer. A spokesman for the Washington-based Cellular Telecommunications Industry Assn. said that, even using the revised data, the amount of electromagnetic energy emitted falls within established safety guidelines.
