U.S. soldiers arrived Thursday in Russia’s southern Urals to take part in a joint peacekeeping exercise. The 250 servicemen will be the first U.S. soldiers to hold maneuvers on Russian soil.

The joint maneuvers, scheduled to run from today to Sept 10, are designed to help work out tactics, techniques and procedures for future U.S.-Russian peacekeeping operations.
