ORANGE : City Seeks Image for Marketing Effort

Share

The city’s Economic Development Department is ready to launch a marketing campaign selling Orange as a great place to live, work and start a business.

Now it needs an image.

Several businesses have agreed to sponsor a photo contest to make sure the city’s marketers have a wide range of images to choose from.

The grand-prize photographer in the “Slice of Life in Orange” photo contest will win $500. Three others will win $250 each in the categories of business, lifestyle/recreation and campus life. Eight photographers each will be given an honorable mention and $50 in U.S. savings bonds.

Entries can depict just about any aspect of life in Orange--work, play or study, said business development officer Victoria Cleary. The photos will illustrate brochures and other marketing materials used to sell Orange to businesses.

“We’re moving forward with more aggressive business retention and attraction efforts,” City Manager David F. Dixon said. “This contest is only the beginning.”

Contest rules and entry forms are available at the Orange Mall, Orange City News, Nextel Communications, Toyota of Orange and the Economic Development Department at 230 E. Chapman Ave. Residents can have forms mailed to them by calling (714) 771-2315.

Entries are due Sept. 29.
