HOLY TIME SHARING: You’ll find Jewish altars at the Eastside Christian Church in Fullerton these days. Reason: Local Jewish residents are observing their High Holy Days, ending with Yom Kippur on Sept. 15. The daily observances draw such a crowd that the Eastside church each year offers its sanctuary to neighboring Temple Beth Tikva for added services. . . . Says Lisa Zwick, who attends its temple: “We think it’s just great of them. They even cover up most of the Christian symbols for us.”

ENOUGH SAID: The Mezzaluna Restaurant in Brentwood, where Nicole Brown Simpson ate dinner with her family the night she was murdered, is still fending off sensational questions about the case. But what about the Mezzaluna on Coast Highway in Corona del Mar? Says its spokesman, Rob Molfetta: “The first question is always are we connected and when we give them the answer, it stops the next question.” . . . The two restaurants have no connection except their name--it means “half moon” in Italian.

BEST SPOKE: There’s only one household name in bicycling, Greg LeMond. Which is why the International Bicycle Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center--mainly for bicycle shop owners--is thrilled to have him as a kickoff guest speaker tonight at the next-door Anaheim Hilton Hotel. . . . “This expo is a preview of what the consumer will see on the bicycle market in the spring of ‘95,” says spokesman Frank Cioffi. “We wanted the best, and you don’t get any better than Greg LeMond.”

BEADAZZLING: You’ve heard of a float made out of roses? How about a life-size kitchen made from beads? That’s what multimedia artist Liza Lou has on display at Cal State Fullerton’s East Gallery, through Sept. 21 (F3). . . . Everything in this kitchenette is made of beads, from bacon strips on the griddle to the beaded wallpaper, its pattern showcasing the humble steam iron. Why the iron design? “I wanted to celebrate things not normally celebrated,” Lou says. “That’s what my work is about.”
