Democrats to Open Campaign Office

Share

A united group of local Democrats on Thursday will open a Democratic headquarters in Ventura for the fall election campaigns of various state legislative and congressional candidates.

The Ventura County headquarters, located at the Old Sawyer College building at 470 Thompson Blvd. in Ventura, will be shared by campaigns of gubernatorial candidate Kathleen Brown, congressional candidate Kevin Ready, state Senate candidate Jack O’Connell and Assembly candidate Mindy Lorenz.

Democrats United, a fund-raising organization, is helping finance the county headquarters and will have staff there to help coordinate precinct canvassing and efforts to get Democrats to the polls on election day.

“We are expecting a hundred to 200 people Thursday evening,” said Ron Pembleton, a Lorenz campaign aide. Lorenz, O’Connell and Ready are scheduled to attend the grand opening from 5 to 7 p.m., he said.

The public is invited, but organizers request a $5 donation. For more information, call 643-9906.
