TRW Wins South Korean Satellite Job: TRW’s space group in Redondo Beach, snaring its second major Asian award in five months, said it was chosen to help build a science and communications satellite for that nation. The company said it will work on the project with the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, which picked TRW over Lockheed Corp. and Matra-Hachette of France. The lightweight satellite will be used for mobile communications, geographic mapping and other scientific efforts. TRW, which expects to sign a four-year contract with KARI by 1995, did not disclose the pact’s dollar value. Taiwan chose TRW in April to build a similar satellite in a four-year deal valued at $61 million.
