Duarte Chamber Picks New Leader
The Duarte Chamber of Commerce board has appointed a former Paramount newspaper editor, who managed the Downey and Bellflower chambers, as its executive director.
David L. Ryal, who is also an ordained minister in the Church of Christ, will take over the top seat at the chamber.
In recent years, some chamber executives have created controversy by publicly criticizing City Council actions. The council, in turn, cut funding for the chamber.
For the last 16 months, Ryal has operated his own business and marketing consulting firm.
