Hazardous Waste in Automotive Businesses Is Workshop Topic

A free, bilingual workshop for automotive businesses covering hazardous waste and materials is being held Tuesday.

The workshop will deal with hazardous-waste regulations and reduction, employee-safety training and waste management resources that are applicable to the automotive industry. Participants will be able to confer with representatives from the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Health-Hazardous Materials Division, the state’s toxics program and other government agencies in an informal setting. Concurrent sessions in English and Spanish have been scheduled to encourage the attendance of those who may have limited English skills.

Businesses in Bell, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Cudahy, Downey, Huntington Park, Los Angeles, Maywood, Montebello, Pico Rivera, South Gate and Vernon may participate.
