I read with special interest your article on dove shooting. It is very refreshing and much appreciated to see Eric Slater’s portrayal of this ancient father/son bonding rite.

* Give me a break! The “aesthetics” of dove hunting! From the picture they look neither hungry nor aesthete. “Instinctual” they say? Killing the symbol of peace and love that’s too small to eat! The “bonding of father and son”? Whatever happened to shagging fly balls or building something together?
