COLLEGE ROUNDUP : UCI Women Shut Out San Bernardino

The UC Irvine women’s soccer team recorded its second consecutive victory Wednesday, shutting out Cal State San Bernardino, 3-0, in a nonconference game at Anteater Field.

Senior co-captain Lori Muzzonigro opened the scoring at the 4:48 mark on a deflection off a Coyote defender in the box.

With 10 minutes remaining in the half, sophomore reserve Keelyn Healy scored the Anteaters’ second goal on a pass from senior Kim Franzen.

UCI finished the scoring at the 68-minute mark, when freshman Tracie Manz headed a cross from senior Jenni Tanaka. Manz leads the team in scoring with three goals and two assists.

Sophomore goalkeeper Stephanie Boes recorded her fourth shutout of the season, making three saves.

In other nonconference women’s soccer:

Chapman 5, The Master’s 2--Cindy LeClair scored two goals for visiting Chapman, which improves to 5-2. Jen Wagner, Beverly Tibbo and Amy Feniello scored the other three goals for the Panthers.

In nonconference men’s soccer:

UC Santa Barbara 4, Southern California College 0--Jeff Johnson had one goal and two assists for host UCSB (3-3). Brent Rogers had 10 saves for SCC (3-4).

In nonconference women’s volleyball:

Concordia 3, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 0--Elaini Kollias had 11 kills for host Concordia (10-4), which won, 15-7, 15-12, 15-11.
