Perot on NAFTA

Regarding Ross Perot’s reported reluctance to concede defeat over the NAFTA issue (Sept. 11):

It appears the “giant trucking sound” going south that we now hear has not impacted the views of Perot or the membership of “United We Strand America Inc.” Instead, we are again beseeched to open our ears to the now familiar “giant clucking sound” of our favorite banty rooster of populism. What has been most audible, however, is the “giant ducking sound” of a politician who seethes at the mouth when asked to provide a straightforward answer to a direct question. What say we start a Wake Up America movement, and settle things over a cup of coffee.
