Docent Job--The Sea & Sage chapter of the National Audubon Society can still use a few more volunteer naturalists to help with its outdoor educational program for fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary this fall and next spring. Interested volunteers must first participate in a nine-week training course that meets from 9 a.m. to noon on select Tuesdays and Thursdays. A meeting is scheduled for Tuesday.

Naturalists assist children with identification of birds and pond life during two-hour tours around the Irvine Ranch Water District ponds and wetlands.

At the end of the training program, volunteer naturalists are expected to lead or co-lead a minimum of two tours a month during the 1994-95 school year.

Cost of the volunteer training is $15 and covers registration, training manual, materials and name badge. To register, call the Sea & Sage office at (714) 261-7963.

Bird’s Eye Views--Shutter bugs with a passion for capturing birds on film can attend the next bird photographers meeting at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Huntington Beach home of Jim Gallagher. Photographers are encouraged to bring up to 30 slides to share, and spectators are welcome. Directions: (714) 962-8990.

Write On--The power of the printed word can come from you in a letter writing campaign supporting the Bolsa Chica wetlands in Huntington Beach. The Bolsa Chica Land Trust is encouraging all Orange County residents to write letters expressing their feelings about preserving the habitat and creating a land exchange between the federal government for its excess property and private developers.

Letters can be mailed to Sen. Dianne Feinstein at Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C. 20510, and Secretary Bruce Babbitt, Department of the Interior, 1849 C St., NW, Washington, D.C. 20240.
