Prostate Cancer

At last! It’s hard to believe that you finally published an article on prostate cancer (“Prostate Cancer Needs Early Detection,” by Mary Lou Wright, Commentary, Sept. 21).

It is concise and right to the point and deserves a follow-up by The Times. Compare your editorials and countless articles about breast cancer to the almost no attention to the dangers of prostate cancer, which kills almost as many as breast cancer.

You definitely should ask for more attention to research and funding for that purpose. Listen to a victim who has been through the mill with colostomy, radiation and chemotherapy and the aftereffects.
