Accent Unveiling: Hyundai Motor America is set to unveil the venerable Hyundai Excel’s successor at ceremonies in Portland at the end of the month.

The new Accent is a curvier, peppier subcompact that is built in South Korea but was designed with input from Hyundai Motor America’s studio at its Fountain Valley headquarters.

Although the U.S. importer is based in Orange County, it is using Oregon for Accent’s introduction because the countryside there is so photogenic. The company is hoping that the introduction will generate extensive newspaper and TV coverage.
