Printronix Inc.: The Irvine manufacturer of computer printers reported a profit of $1.5 million, or 44 cents a share, for its latest quarter. That compared to earnings of $96,000, or 3 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Sales for the company’s second fiscal quarter, which ended Sept. 23, were up 40% to $34.3 million from $24.5 million. For its first half, the company posted a profit of $2.9 million, or 84 cents a share, compared to earnings of $627,000, or 19 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Six-month sales increased 39% to $67.8 million from $48.7 million.
