Thanking Teachers

I was touched by Barry Smolin’s recent commentary (“Society Demeans Teachers”). I have taught Junior Achievement at public schools in Irvine for the past three years and I can attest that teaching is demanding work and deserving of everyone’s respect. I suggest that anyone with school-age children should send a thank you note to school. Your kid may just get a job someday because of something that his or her teacher said in class.
