Share

Bradley Lisotto rushed for 169 yards and scored two touchdowns to help undefeated Edison beat Sonora, 29-16, in a nonleague game Friday night at La Habra High.

Lisotto scored twice from two yards out in the first half for the Chargers (5-0). He also helped put the game away in the third quarter. Edison had a 22-10 lead when his 65-yard run put the Chargers on the Sonora 20-yard line. Edison scored four plays later when tight end Joe Khamis fell on a Lisotto fumble in the end zone.

Sonora (2-3) stayed in the game with two TD passes by quarterback Kevin Rodriguez to Junior Rodriguez. The first went for 49 yards on the Raiders’ opening drive. The second was an 85-yard pass play to close out the scoring late in the game.

But the Charger defense was solid expect for the big plays.

Sonora had four plays from Edison’s three-yard line that would have cut the lead to six, but couldn’t score.

“Our first-string defense gave up one big play all night,” said Edison Coach Dave White. “We were a little out of sync, but they had something to do with that.”

Kevin Rodriguez finished with 242 yards passing. Junior Rodriguez with three receptions at 132 yards.
