Twenty months after Dee Dee Myers got the job of White House press secretary, she took custody Saturday of the spacious office that traditionally has gone with the title.

Myers emerged from a recent White House power struggle with her job intact and her powers enhanced. On Saturday, she moved into the office formerly occupied by Communications Director Mark D. Gearan, who has a new job as director of strategic planning and a different office in the West Wing.
