New Gasoline Payment System Implemented: When drivers say, “Fill ‘er up,” they’ll now be able to pay for a tank of gas at many Mobil stations with a check and service station owners will know immediately whether the check they received is good. Under a new program with National City Processing Co., Mobil Corp. said, customers will be able to pay for gas, repairs or other services with a check, which will be given immediate approval through a new point-of-sale system. The system will be made available to Mobil’s 9,000 service stations nationwide.
