Wall Street Financial Corp.: The firm said Monday that its Honolulu-based subsidiary, Jackson Builders Corp., has filed for bankruptcy protection. The Chapter 11 filing was made in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hawaii.

A company spokesman said the drywall subcontractor has suffered a severe financial blow because of a carpenters union strike that began on Sept. 28. The strike, started when Jackson Builders was accused of hiring non-union labor, has shut down several of the company’s construction sites.

Wall Street Financial, based in Santa Ana, is a holding company with operations in the food, finance, technology and real estate industries.
