Chiropractic Network Gets Approval: The Justice Department’s antitrust division approved a plan by a California chiropractic association to form a statewide organization that would jointly negotiate contracts with health insurers and employers. The proposal by the International Chiropractor’s Assn. of California, a Sacramento trade group representing about 350 chiropractors, would benefit consumers “by permitting association members to offer chiropractic services at lower rates,” the department said in a statement. The group had asked the federal agency for an opinion on whether the proposal would violate antitrust laws. The department said the network would have to be limited to no more than 50% of chiropractors in any geographic market.
